Natiq Privacy Policy

Natiq Application ("Natiq") is developed and operated by Amir Alaushen in Saudi Arabia.

Natiq is designed to work offline and to keep the learner's information on their own device.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Natiq.

1. Privacy by design

Natiq does not require an online account.

The core application works offline.

Natiq does not use:

• advertising;
• advertising trackers;
• analytics;
• crash-reporting services;
• behavioral tracking;
• cloud synchronization;
• Natiq-operated servers for learner data;
• passive telemetry.

Natiq does not sell personal data.

Natiq does not automatically send learning activity or profile information to Natiq Application.

2. Information stored on your device

Natiq may process and store information locally on your device in order to provide its features.

This may include:

• learner profile name;
• profile picture or built-in profile image;
• optional profile PIN information;
• vocabulary-learning progress;
• learning, test, and review results;
• mastered-word history;
• words requiring additional attention;
• learning time;
• daily goals;
• selected learning days;
• time-bank information;
• streak information;
• learning statistics;
• calibration and pace estimates;
• reminder preferences;
• backup preferences;
• locally edited educational content;
• contribution history;
• application settings;
• maintenance and diagnostic records created inside the application.

This information remains on your device unless you deliberately export or share it.

Under Saudi privacy law, information such as names and photographs may constitute personal data even when processed locally. Natiq is therefore designed to minimize such processing and prevent unnecessary transmission.

3. No Natiq online account

Natiq does not require you to provide:

• an email address;
• a telephone number;
• a social-media account;
• a government identifier;
• payment information;
• or another online account identifier

to use its normal learning features.

Profiles created in Natiq are local profiles on your device and are not online Natiq accounts.

4. Profile pictures

You may optionally choose a personal image as your profile picture.

Natiq uses the Android system photo picker for this purpose.

Natiq does not require broad access to your entire photo library merely to choose a profile picture.

The selected image is stored locally as part of your Natiq profile and may be included in a backup that you create.

5. Notifications

Natiq may request permission to send local notifications.

Notifications may include reminders concerning:

• learning goals;
• pending tests;
• pending reviews;
• unfinished learning work;
• backup reminders;
• optional language-exposure suggestions.

These notifications are generated locally on your device.

Natiq does not send your learning information to a server in order to generate notifications.

Notification permission is optional, and denying it does not prevent use of Natiq's core learning features.

6. Pronunciation audio

Natiq pronunciation audio is bundled with the application and works offline.

Natiq does not require microphone access for its core learning method.

Natiq does not record your voice, perform speech recognition, or upload spoken audio.

7. Backups

Natiq allows you to create local backup files.

Backups are created only when you choose to create them.

Natiq backups are password-protected.

A backup may contain information needed to restore your profile or installation, including:

• profile information;
• learning progress;
• learning history;
• statistics;
• settings;
• profile images;
• contribution information;
• other applicable Natiq data.

You choose where an exported backup is stored.

For example, you may save or transfer it using a file provider, storage device, computer, or another application available on your device.

Natiq does not automatically upload backups to Natiq-operated servers.

Once a backup leaves Natiq, its storage and handling are controlled by you and by any service or application you choose to use.

Deleting information inside Natiq does not automatically delete backup copies that you previously exported.

You are responsible for keeping your backup password safe. Natiq Application cannot recover a password that you lose.

8. Collaborator Mode and voluntary contributions

Natiq may allow you to suggest corrections or improvements to its educational content.

Your edits remain local until you deliberately choose to send them.

If you choose to submit a contribution, it may be sent by email to:

natiq.application@gmail.com

The contribution may contain information such as:

• the affected word;
• Word ID;
• the existing educational content;
• your proposed correction;
• an audio-problem report;
• notes you voluntarily provide.

Sending a contribution may also reveal your email address and any identifying information contained in your email account or message.

Natiq itself does not automatically send the contribution.

Your email application and email provider are separate services and are subject to their own privacy practices.

Contribution emails and related information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to review contributions, maintain licensing or contribution records, incorporate accepted improvements, resolve disputes, or comply with applicable law.

We do not normally publish a contributor's email address or personal identity as part of the educational dataset.

9. Contribution licensing

When submitting educational content, you may be asked to agree that your contribution can be used, edited, incorporated, published, and redistributed as part of Natiq's educational content under the applicable Natiq content license.

The current intended educational-content license is:

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International — CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

You should submit only material that you created yourself or that you otherwise have the legal right to contribute.

10. Information Natiq does not automatically collect

Natiq does not automatically collect or transmit:

• learning history;
• vocabulary results;
• profile names;
• profile pictures;
• device identifiers for tracking;
• advertising identifiers;
• location;
• contacts;
• microphone recordings;
• browsing activity;
• usage analytics;
• crash reports.

This description applies to the official Natiq application as described in this policy.

If future versions introduce functionality that changes these practices, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that functionality is released as appropriate.

11. Local data retention

Learning information normally remains on your device until you reset, erase, or delete it.

Natiq provides different data-management actions with different consequences.

Resetting vocabulary

Resetting vocabulary returns applicable words to the learning process while preserving certain historical information as explained by the application.

Erasing learning data

Natiq may allow you to erase learning progress, history, statistics, time information, streak information, and other learning-related information while preserving the profile and applicable settings.

Deleting a profile

A deleted profile may remain locally recoverable for up to 30 days.

During that recovery period, the profile may retain its information so that it can be restored.

After the recovery period expires, the profile is intended to be permanently removed from Natiq's local application storage.

Previously exported backup files remain separate and are not automatically deleted.

12. Optional profile PIN

Natiq may allow you to protect a local profile with a PIN.

The PIN is intended to reduce casual or accidental access on a shared device.

It is not a replacement for your device's security features and should not be treated as protection against a determined person who already has access to the device or application data.

13. Children and younger users

Natiq is intended for individual language learners aged 13 and older.

Natiq is not specifically directed to children under 13.

Users who have not reached full legal capacity under applicable law should use Natiq with the permission or supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.

Natiq does not require a date of birth and does not create online learner accounts.

If a person under 13 sends personal information directly to Natiq Application by email, a parent or legal guardian may contact us to request appropriate action concerning that information.

14. Security

Natiq reduces privacy risk by keeping core learner data locally and avoiding unnecessary network transmission.

However, no device or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Users should:

• protect access to their device;
• use device-level security;
• keep backup passwords secure;
• store exported backups safely.

15. Third-party applications

Natiq may allow you to use operating-system or external applications for actions such as:

• selecting a profile picture;
• choosing where to save a backup;
• opening an exported file;
• sending a contribution by email;
• opening device settings.

When you intentionally transfer information to another application or service, that provider's privacy policy and terms may apply.

Natiq Application is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services selected by you.

16. Your privacy choices

Because ordinary Natiq learning information remains locally on your device, you can manage much of that information directly through the application's:

• reset features;
• erase-learning-data feature;
• profile deletion feature;
• backup controls;
• notification settings;
• profile settings.

For personal information that you have deliberately sent to Natiq Application by email, you may contact us regarding access, correction, or deletion as applicable under Saudi law.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Natiq's functionality, data practices, legal obligations, or distribution methods change.

The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

Material changes will be reflected in this policy as appropriate.
